preface: This is the story of Carla's car wreck (Carla is Carl's daughter...
she is a tall, handsome young lady, with a quick smile, and a quick wit, like
her parents) Anyway, the evening we heard about the wreck, this tune came to
me. Part comedy, part tragedy, I didn't know what to do with it! what if it
offended Carl and Suzanne ? For Carla, would it bring back bad memories of her
long stay in the hospital, and her slow painful recovery ? I thought it best
to just hide it away, and did, for about a year. Finally, this past Christmas,
I was struck with how completely Carla had recovered...her smile had returned!
So I decided to polish on "Old Booger" some more, and hopefully, try to record
it. The good Lord blessed Carla with a loving, Christian family...a family with
the strength to carry her thru that trial. Carla, never doubt that the Lord
sent his angles to turn the reaper aside...RAJ

She was ridin Old Booger, who would spook at anything
Now hosses see the haints that people cannot see
Old Booger saw the Reaper and he knew that he must flee
He snorted and he reared, like a top he spun around
Alas, the lass was caught off guard and fell unto the ground
My bonnies' lying by the way, she fell unto the ground
The neighbors saw it from their door, she's shurely dead, they swore
The Reapers' coming down the road, her end she can't delay
But the Angels, they were watching, and they sent him on his way
Grim Reaper, you can't keep her, spoke the Angels to hime, Lo ]
She's the fairest lass our Lord has placed in this cruel world below
Grim Reaper, you can't keep her, but Old Booger he shall go with thee
Fare thee well Old Booger. Ye, the Reaper's horse shall be
Boys bring the wagon and don't be slow
We just got word that thy sister's been throwed
Grab the oil lantern and a blanket or two
A swig of Granny's tonic will fixx her good as new
4/4 drone open strings and double stops where possible
